Apple's Founder Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone to the market ten years ago. It was a revolutionary smartphone, which disrupted the whole market situation. In 2012, I did my master's dissertation at Anglia Ruskin University, Lord Ashcroft International Business School, Cambridge, United Kingdom, which was about the changing mobile industry, and how Apple, and then Google destroyed Nokia's position as the market leader. As a Finn, I tried to stay loyal to Nokia because it is Finland's crown jewel but in 2013 I just decided to give up because Nokia and Windows Mobile did not have the latest applications. Decided to switch to Apple, never regretted my decision because the iOS operating system is smooth and it has the best applications in the marketplace.
Nowadays, I am involved in the luxury industry and I know the major impact of the iPhone and the iPad for the whole industry. Although, Facebook and YouTube were launched before the iPhone and the iPad, and several other applications were possible to design because of the groundbreaking operating system and touchscreen technology - all together. Now people are more connected to the internet and people are using Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest and others almost all of the time. Luxury brands are empowered globally to share interesting content, especially high-end videos and pictures to their fans. It is important for designers and brands to express themselves with ease. I know that iPhones and iPad are used daily by luxury marketers in order to share content. That is the reason to celebrate the iPhone.
